Alexander Cole, M.D.

Dr. Cole is a psychiatrist at Prestonwood Health. He was raised in the Dallas area, graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University, and completed medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his internship and psychiatry residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas in 2019, serving as chief resident of psychiatry - along with Dr. Fernandez - during his final year of training. Dr. Cole is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
After completing his training, Dr. Cole joined the faculty of UT Southwestern as an inpatient psychiatrist. While on faculty, Dr. Cole served as the medical director of the inpatient psychiatric unit at UT Southwestern’s Clements University Hospital, was extensively involved in medical student and resident education, and served in a variety of roles in national psychiatric organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association, Association for Academic Psychiatry, and the American College of Psychiatrists.
Dr. Cole’s clinical interests include mood disorders and anxiety disorders. At UT Southwestern, he was extensively involved in UT Southwestern’s interventional psychiatry program, including evaluation for and administration of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), ketamine-based treatments, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). He retains a clinical appointment at UT Southwestern where he is a member of the interventional psychiatry team and continues to teach residents and psychology doctoral students. Dr. Cole is also a psychoanalytic candidate at the Dallas Psychoanalytic Center.
Aaron Fernandez, M.D.

Dr. Fernandez is a psychiatrist at Prestonwood Health. He grew up in North Texas and is proud to provide care to patients in this area he calls home. Dr. Fernandez is especially passionate about treating those with depression or anxiety and patients coping with stressors at home or work. He enjoys getting to know his clients and understanding how their history and environment is shaping their mental health and wellness. His goal is to help his patients lead rich, fulfilling lives while helping them to meet their goals.
Dr. Fernandez received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and completed medical school at UT Houston McGovern Medical School. He completed his internship and psychiatry residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 2019, serving as chief resident of psychiatry - along with Dr. Cole - during his final year of training. Dr. Fernandez is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. After completing his training, Dr. Fernandez joined the faculty of UT Southwestern as an emergency room psychiatrist at Parkland Hospital. He was also a founding team psychiatrist for Included Health, where he provided telehealth-based psychiatric care to patients across the nation.
In his free time, Dr. Fernandez enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and giving back to his community. Throughout the years he has been active in local school mentorship programs and has taught mental health classes at his alma mater, Lewisville High School.
Gus Zhang, M.D.

Dr. Zhang is a psychiatrist at Prestonwood Health. He was raised in the Dallas area, received his undergraduate degree from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), and completed medical school at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his internship and psychiatry residency training at UT Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Health & Hospital System in Dallas in 2016. He is board-certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
After completing his training, Dr. Zhang joined the faculty of UT Southwestern as a consultation-liaison psychiatrist at UT Southwestern’s Clements University Hospital. In 2018, he began working as an emergency room psychiatrist at Parkland Hospital. During his time on faculty at UT Southwestern, Dr. Zhang also published multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Zhang remains an adjunct faculty member at UT Southwestern, but joined Included Health in 2023, where he provided telehealth-based psychiatric care to patients across the nation.
Dr. Zhang has been recognized by his peers with multiple awards for excellence in both clinical care and research: in 2012, he was named Outstanding Medical Student in Psychiatry by the North Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians; in 2016, he received the Chairman’s Research Award from UT Southwestern; and in 2019, he received the George Winokur Award from the American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists.
