Payments, Billing, and Insurance
Does Prestonwood Health accept insurance?
How do I know if I am in-network with Prestonwood Health?
Unfortunately, health insurance is complex, and some insurance plans do not cover mental health services or have specific exceptions or "carve-outs" for mental health providers. You can always call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask if a specific provider is in-network.
You are welcome to submit our intake form with your insurance information, and we will let you know whether our services are in-network or not. Please note that verification of coverage and benefits is not a guarantee of payment and actual benefits can only be determined after the carrier receives a claim.
Can I self-pay for my visits instead?
Yes, we offer self-pay rates for those who wish to self-pay for services. These rates are comparable to similar self-pay rates charged by other psychiatrists in the area. View our self-pay rates.
Does Prestonwood Health charge for cancellations or no-shows?
In order for us to be fully dedicated to the protected time set aside for your appointment, we charge a small fee for cancellations made on short-notice and no-shows to visits. This fee is waived for the first occurrence. These policies are typical of many medical practices. View our full policy on no-shows and cancellations.

Can Prestonwood Health psychiatrists prescribe controlled substances?
Yes, under certain circumstances. In order to ensure that controlled substances are prescribed and monitored in the safest way possible, we have policies specific to these types of medications. View our full controlled substance policy and contract.
How often do I need to have appointments with my psychiatrist?
This depends on a number of factors including your symptoms and your response to treatment. Typically, follow-up visits range from monthly to every three months.
Can Prestonwood Health psychiatrists offer therapy?
Yes, psychotherapy or talk therapy is an important component of mental health treatment, and we incorporate therapy into our medication management visits.
If you would like to do psychotherapy only, or would like to focus on therapy to a greater extent than medication management, please let us know when you submit the intake form so that we can match you to a provider who can best suit your needs.
Can I choose my provider at Prestonwood Health?
If you have a preference for or received a referral to see a specific provider, we will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Please indicate your preference on our intake form. As our providers have different schedules, we may not be able to accommodate your request depending on your scheduling availability.

Does Prestonwood Health offer Spravato (esketamine) treatments?
Yes, our psychiatrists are trained in the diagnosis and management of ADHD. However, we take care in determining appropriate treatment for each individual client. Diagnostic clarity is always a priority as symptoms concerning for ADHD may overlap with other common conditions, including depression and anxiety. Prior to starting a stimulant (or example, Adderall, Vyvanse, or Ritalin), we require that you compete neuropsychological testing if your ADHD symptoms are not currently being treated. We can provide you with referrals for a neuropsychologist, if needed.
